Sharon Poliakine (b. 1964) is an artist and an associate professor at the Haifa University, where she currently serves as the head of the MFA program. Her body of work contains paintings, objects, site-specific installations and prints.
Her solo exhibitions include Israel Museum, Jerusalem (1993), Ein Harod Museum of Art (2004), Tel Aviv Museum of Art (2002, 2010); Ashdod Museum of Art (2012), Jerusalem Print Workshop (2018), Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art (2018) and Gordon Gallery, Tel Aviv (2020).
Her participation in group exhibitions include Machida City Museum of Graphic Arts, Japan (1993), Bertha Urdang Gallery, New York (1993), Sungkok Art Museum, Seoul, South Korea (2000), Haifa Museum of Art (2000, 2004, 2014), LA Print Space, Los Angeles, California, USA (2013), On the Seam Museum, Jerusalem (2016), Israel Museum, Jerusalem (1995, 2003, 2006, 2019) and many more.
She is the recipient of numerous awards and grants including the Machida City Museum of Graphic Arts Prize, Tokyo, the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, USA and The Rappaport Prize for an established Israeli painter.
Her works are included in public and private collections among them: Israel Museum, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Ein Harod Museum of Art, Brooklyn Museum, New York, The Public Library, New York, The British Museum, London.
She served as Haifa University chief curator (2012-2020), as the Head of the Art department (2007-2012) and was the head of the School of the Arts (2012-2016).
