מטריאליות ג'נדר
הרצאה זו תדון בשני הפרויקטים האחרונים שלי The World is Flooding (טייט מודרן, 2014) וסדרת האינטרנט החדשה  Revisiting Genesis (במסגרת Stanley Picker Fellowship commission, 2016). ב- The World is Flooding עבדתי עם קבוצה של משתתפים במטרה להפיק עבודת מיצג שהיא למעשה אדפטציה למחזה של מיקובסקי מ-1921  בשם Mystery Bouffe, המספר סיפור אוטופי של עולם מיושב על ידי ה-  The Clean ו- The Unclean. העבודה כוללת רסיטל, מצעד, אוסף של פונצ'ואים שנעשו מחומרי ניקוי ו- מגזין. העבודה Revisiting Genesis משלבת מדע בדיוני לצד ראיונות מחייהם של אנשים אשר מצויים תחת תנאים המגבילים את מחייתם. הסדרה עוקבת אחרי סיפורן של שתי אחיות רפואיות, אשר לשתיהן קוראים ג'קי, היוצרות מצגות  בעבור אנשים  שמותם קרב לבוא. 


Oreet Ashery is a London based visual artist and an educator working with political-fiction, gender materiality and potential communities. Ashery’s practice spans live situations and performances, still and moving image, workshops, writing and assemblages and turns to areas such as commissioned music, costume, distribution, research and activism. Ashery’s work is shown in a local and international context including domestic and public site-specific locations, museums, galleries, biennials and festivals. Most recently Ashery produced the large-scale projects Party for Freedom, an Artangel commission in 2013-4, The World is Flooding, a Tate Modern Turbine Hall commission, 2014 and Revisiting Genesis, 2016, a web series commissioned by the Stanley Picker Foundation. Ashery’s work appears in worldwide publications in numerous languages, she is currently a Fine Art Fellow at Stanley Picker Gallery, a Visiting Professor at the Painting Department at the RCA and a lecturer at the Art Department in Goldsmiths
